I found a great article about how English has become compulsory in Japan. The goal is for students to learn a minimum of 285 words and 50 expressions before they leave primary school. There are many countries whose governments have made English mandatory in schools, and those are the countries that will excel in the global market in future years. We are spoiled and shortsighted here in the U.S. because we already speak English, yet many refuse to acknowledge the importance of learning a foreign language. The Early Lingo World Language Campaign is all about teaching kids the importance of learning other languages.
Two thirds of the world is bilingual. What does that tell you?
