These flapjacks are similar to oatmeal bars with a delicious twist. Fast and easy to bake and a great breakfast treat or snack for kids.
Preheat oven to 350
8×8 inch pan, buttered
½ cup butter (1 stick), cut into pieces
¼ golden syrup
2 1/3 cup quick cooking oats (not old fashioned or instant)
Pinch of salt
½ teaspoon ginger
Combine the first 3 ingredients in a small saucepan. Stir constantly over low to medium heat until smooth. Remove from heat.
Mix the oats, salt and ginger. Then add to the syrup mixture and blend well.
Put the mixture into the buttered 8×8 inch pan and pat until smooth and level.
Bake for 25 minutes.
Allow to cool and then cut into small squares.
