Caryn Antonini making spice pineapple ice pops on WTNH

CEO of Early Lingo Caryn Antonini makes spiced pineapple ice pops that the kids can help make to cool off this summer.

Ingredients:

1 pineapple

4 quarts of water

1 cinnamon stick

2 cloves

2 black peppercorns

Panela, agave, honey or sugar to taste

Directions:

Fill a large pot with the water.
Scrub the pineapple with the rind still intact to remove dirt and debris. Then cut the rind from the fruit and place in the pot of water. Reserve the fruit. Add the cinnamon stick, cloves and peppercorns and bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Add your sweetener of choice or drink as is.
Drink immediately or cool and serve with ice.

You can make fruity popsicles by adding fruit to the spiced drink and freezing in popsicle molds.
